When most people face failure and their future appears dark and bleak, they give up.
Not so for Charo wa Baya, a village boy from the coastal county of Kilifi. Instead of wallowing in self-pity and living a mediocre life like his kinsfolk, he dared the world. And he conquered.
This is a fictitious story that highlights the plight that befalls many young people in our country, and also about the possibilities of success that are available.
Born in poverty in a large polygamous family, Charo’s path to success was littered with a myriad of obstacles. When he failed his university entrance exams (D+), he was left with no prospects of further education or training. He languished in the village doing menial jobs that paid measly wages.
His big break came when he met his neighbour Jonathan Mwambire, who helped him get a job as a petrol attendant. Mwambire also introduced him to Dr. William Konde who accepted to be his mentor.
By sheer determination, hard work, persistence and a burning desire Charo surmounted great odds to earn an MBA and also created a million dollar international company.
The world is full of possibilities, you only need to search with an open mind. This book shows you that there is a silver lining on every dark cloud. It is possible you can achieve your dreams, though the journey would be tough, it is well worth the journey.
Failure becomes failure only when you stop trying
