I have previously worked as an accountant in the hotel industry.
At comfort 5 hotel Nairobi, we transformed the manual accounts system to an electronic POS based system. I also put together a comprehensive accounting system in compliance with the Income Tax Act.
At Omega Gardens Hotel Karatina, I helped set up Premier QuickBooks accounting system running. As such the process of accounting and auditing became easier and more robust. I also helped to engage a new way of follow up on accounts payables schedules which is still in use to date.
Previously I worked at The County Government of Kirinyaga as an internal audit intern for 5 months. I was instrumental in the health department audit where we conducted thorough audit and prepared a comprehensive report presented to the governor of Kirinyaga County. I was also a part of the team that carried out audit on county polytechnics and wrote an audit report with a proposed raft of measures to improve education levels in those institutions.
