Oats S18 is one of the best varieties grown in Kenya. It is grown
for both milling and animal feeding, and has the highest yielding
quality in terms of grain and fodder biomass. It is ideal for silage
and dry hay production.
Altitudes: Does well in cool highland regions of up to 3000 mts
above sea level. It is an ideal fodder crop where other pastures
such as Rhodes grass cannot perform well due to frosty conditions.
Seed Rate: 30kgs per acre is recommended when planting the
certified high quality seeds of S18 variety.
