1. Core Technical Welding Processes
MIG Welding (GMAW - Gas Metal Arc Welding)
TIG Welding (GTAW - Gas Tungsten Arc Welding)
Stick Welding (SMAW - Shielded Metal Arc Welding)
2. Blueprint Reading & Technical Skills
Drafting & Layout: Measuring, marking, and cutting metal pieces accurately before welding begins.
Metallurgy Knowledge: Understanding how different metals (mild steel, stainless steel, aluminum, cast iron) react to extreme heat. This includes knowing pre-heating and post-heating requirements to prevent cracking or warping.
3. Practical Math & Measurement
Precision is everything. A fraction of an inch off can ruin an entire structural assembly.
Geometry and Trigonometry: Used to calculate angles, fit-ups, and pipe bends.
