Responsibilities
The successful candidate will: Coordinate the implementation of ISWAK programmes, projects and activities within the assigned sub-county. Establish, strengthen and maintain effective ISWAK structures at sub-county levels. Mobilize informal sector workers and other target groups to participate in ISWAK programmes and activities. Support recruitment, registration, retention and engagement of ISWAK members. Identify and engage relevant informal sector groups, associations, cooperatives, enterprises and community organizations. Represent ISWAK at relevant subcounty-level meetings, forums, workshops, public consultations and stakeholder engagements. Develop and maintain strong working relationships with national government agencies, development partners, civil society organizations, private-sector actors and community leaders. Disseminate information about ISWAK programmes, opportunities, policies, and campaigns

The ideal candidate should demonstrate: Strong leadership and coordination skills. Excellent community mobilization and networking abilities. Good oral and written communication skills. Ability to build relationships with diverse stakeholders. Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Good organizational, planning and time-management skills. Basic research, data collection and reporting skills. Computer literacy, including the ability to use email, Microsoft Office, and online communication platforms. Social media and digital communication skills will be an added advantage. Ability to organize meetings, trainings, workshops and community activities. Integrity, accountability, professionalism and commitment to public service. Ability to work with people from diverse social, economic, and cultural backgrounds. Problem-solving and analytical skills. Ability and willingness to travel within the assigned subcounty.
Minimum Qualification Requirements
Applicants should meet the following requirements: Be a Kenyan citizen and ordinarily resident, or have strong working knowledge of the county applied for. Possess at least a Diploma or Bachelor's Degree from a recognized institution in any of the following or related fields: Community Development; Social Sciences; Development Studies; Public Administration; Project Management; Business Administration; Economics; Cooperative Development; Entrepreneurship; Social Work; Political Science; Governance; Communication; or Any other relevant discipline. Candidates with relevant professional qualifications and substantial community mobilization experience may also be considered. Demonstrated knowledge of the informal sector and the socio-economic issues affecting informal sector workers. Demonstrable experience in community mobilization, programme coordination, advocacy, development work, membership organizations, or related activities will be an added advantage.
Minimum Experience
2 years
The Sub- County Coordinator will be responsible for coordinating and supporting the implementation of ISWAK programmes, projects, campaigns, and activities within the assigned sub-county. The successful candidate will serve as the principal link between the ISWAK National Secretariat, sub-county structures, members, informal sector workers, community stakeholders, partners, and other relevant institutions.
