Ruiru 11 is Kenyan coffee hybrid from KALRO Ruiru 1985, made of 60 F1 crosses. Resistant to Coffee Berry Disease & Leaf Rust, so saves 30% on chemicals. Matures in 2yrs vs SL28 3-4yrs. High yield 2.5-3 tons/ha clean coffee vs 0.3-2t for SL. Compact tree, so 2500-3000 trees/ha at 2x2m spacing. Cup quality same as SL28. Buy certified from CRI Ruiru/KALRO only. Adapted to mid-altitude areas. Tip: drip irrigate 50mm every 21 days in dry season (+70% yield) and intercrop beans, not maize.
