Responsibilities
1. Fiber Optic Installation Install, route, and secure fiber optic cables in residential, commercial, and industrial settings. Mount and align fiber enclosures, patch panels, and related hardware. Ensure all installations comply with industry standards and safety regulations. 2. Fiber Terminations Terminate fiber optic cables using appropriate connectors and techniques. Prepare and polish fiber ends to ensure optimal signal transmission. Inspect and verify termination quality before system activation. 3. Fiber Splicing Perform both fusion and mechanical splicing with precision and accuracy. Maintain low splice loss levels in line with industry benchmarks. Document splice results and maintain accurate records. 4. OTDR Testing & Analysis Conduct OTDR (Optical Time Domain Reflectometer) testing to assess fiber integrity. Interpret test results to identify faults, breaks, and signal losses. Generate detailed test reports for client and internal records. 5. Network Troublesh
Requirements & Skills
1. Educational Qualifications Diploma or Certificate in Information Technology, Telecommunications, Electrical Engineering, or a related field. Additional technical training in fiber optics is an added advantage. 2. Proven Field Experience Minimum of 2–3 years of hands-on experience in fiber optic installation, splicing, and maintenance. Demonstrated track record of working independently with minimal supervision. Experience working on both residential and commercial fiber networks. 3. Technical Skills Proficiency in fiber optic installation, termination, and fusion splicing. Strong knowledge of OTDR testing, power meter usage, and fault analysis. Ability to interpret network diagrams, schematics, and technical documentation. Solid understanding of network troubleshooting and signal loss diagnosis. Familiarity with various fiber connector types (SC, LC, ST, FC) and cable categories. 4. Practical Field Competencies Ability to work at heights, in confined spaces, and outdoor

Capable of lifting and handling heavy equipment and cables. 5. Communication Skills Basic verbal and written communication skills in English and Kiswahili.
