BNC connectors are bayonet-style RF (radio frequency) connectors used to quickly and securely join coaxial cables for video, signal, and RF applications. They’re named Bayonet Neill–Concelman after their inventors and use a push-twist locking mechanism that prevents accidental disconnection. BNCs come in 50 Ω and 75 Ω versions to match cable impedance and maintain signal integrity with minimal loss. Common uses include CCTV/video transmission, broadcast gear, test equipment, and RF systems up to ~2–4 GHz.
