Access: You must open or drop the tailgate (if possible) and remove the inner service panel or bed liner screws to reach the inside of the gate.
Linkage: Detach the plastic retaining clips and pull the metal latch rods out of the old handle assembly.
Hardware: Unbolt the mounting nuts/bolts (typically 10mm) holding the exterior handle, swap in the new unit, re-secure the rods, and snap the clips back into place.
