This is a submersible water pump: the whole unit (motor + impeller/pump body) is meant to be placed under water, e.g. inside a well, borehole, water tank, reservoir or similar.
As a submersible, it pushes water upward (rather than “pulling” from above), which tends to be more efficient and avoids common suction-pump problems like cavitation.
Because the motor is sealed and submerged, the pump can be installed directly inside the water source — no need for priming or special suction setup (unlike many external pumps).
