An oil pressure sensor is a small but critical component in an engine that monitors the pressure of the engine oil and sends that information to your vehicle’s dashboard (gauge or warning light).
What it does
Measures the oil pressure inside the engine
Sends a signal to the car’s computer or gauge
Triggers a warning light if pressure drops too low
Why it’s important
Engine oil lubricates moving parts. If pressure is too low:
Parts don’t get enough lubrication
Friction and heat increase
It can lead to serious engine damage or failure
