If you are getting this ready for its first use, keep these essential steps in mind:
Add Engine Oil: Most generators are shipped "dry" (without oil). You must add the recommended grade (usually SAE 10W-30 or 10W-40) before the very first start, or you risk permanent engine damage.
Grounding: For safety, use the grounding terminal to connect the generator to an earth spike.
The "Break-in" Period: For a brand-new engine, it is wise to change the oil after the first 5–8 hours of operation to remove any tiny metal shavings from the manufacturing process.
Load Management: Never start the generator with appliances already plugged in and turned on. Start the engine, let it stabilize for a minute, and then plug in your devices one by one.
