hot-air gun is a hand-held electric tool that produces a stream of hot air. Tent makers use it to heat, soften, and weld synthetic tent fabrics, especially PVC-coated materials, so that two pieces can be joined together without sewing. It is useful for making seams, hems, repairs, and waterproof joints. The temperature and airflow can usually be adjusted depending on the type and thickness of the fabric.
