Cutting plotter is a computer-controlled machine used to precisely cut shapes, letters, or designs from thin materials like vinyl, paper, fabric, or film. It works somewhat like a printer, but instead of using ink, it uses a sharp blade to cut
along paths defined by digital designs.
A cutting plotter follows these basic steps:
A design is created using computer software (vector graphics).
The design is sent to the plotter.
The machine moves a blade (or sometimes a pen or laser) along X and Y axes.
The blade cuts the material according to the design outline.
