An electric strike lock is a locking device that is typically fitted to the frame of the door and works in conjunction with a dead latch. The strike will secure the latch in place until such time as an electronic keypad, proximity reader, card reader or other access control device is operated; thus releasing the strike plate to allow for entry or exit through the door.
