Fallout 4 is a 2015 open-world, single-player action-roleplaying game developed by Bethesda Game Studios, set in the post-apocalyptic Commonwealth, a ruined version of Boston, Massachusetts, two centuries after a nuclear war. Players take on the role of the "Sole Survivor" of Vault 111, a cryo-chamber that was supposed to protect them from the nuclear holocaust, but who awakens to a world ravaged by war to search for their kidnapped child, Shaun. The game features exploration, a deep crafting system for weapons and settlements, a S.P.E.C.I.A.L. character system for customizable builds, and a story that involves multiple factions, including the Institute, the Brotherhood of Steel, the Railroad, and the Minutemen, who vie for control of the wasteland
