Vermicomposting, which is the process of using earthworms to break down organic waste into a nutrient-rich organic fertilizer called vermicompost or worm castings.
The setup uses upcycled plastic drums, cut in half and arranged on a wooden rack, as composting bins.
The system is designed to produce both solid vermicompost and liquid fertilizer (vermiliquid).
Earthworms, such as red wigglers, digest the organic material and excrete the nutrient-dense castings.
This method is a sustainable way to recycle kitchen and farm organic waste into valuable soil amendments.
