SUPER NAPIER PAKCHONG-F1
Super Napier (Pakchong 1) is a hybrid Napier grass developed by Dr. Krailas Kiyothong, an animal nutritionist and plant breeder from the Department of Livestock Development, Thailand. It is a result of crossing ordinary Napier (Pennisetum purpureum) with Pearl Millet (Pennisetum glaucam)
Key Qualities of Pakchong 1 Super Napier:
1. High Crude Protein Content: Pakchong 1 is the only variety in Kenya offering the highest crude protein levels, ranging from 16% to 18%.
2. Exceptional Yield: This variety can produce up to 200 tons per acre annually, earning it the title "King of Napier."
3. Efficient Land Use: With a yield of 200 tons per acre per year, a dairy farmer can rear up to 15 cows on just one acre of land.
