Fire bricks are typically light tan, cream, pale yellow, or off-white in color, though some can appear reddish or brown depending on their composition.
They have a dense, fine-grained texture and feel heavier and harder than ordinary clay bricks.
Made from refractory clay rich in alumina and silica, which gives them excellent heat resistance.
They can withstand temperatures ranging from 1,000°C to over 1,700°C, depending on the grade.
Fire bricks have low thermal conductivity, meaning they retain heat well while protecting surrounding structures.
They resist thermal shock, so they don’t crack easily when exposed to rapid heating and cooling.
