FireWire 800 / FireWire 1394b is the new version of the popular FireWire interface which doubles the throughput of the original IEEE-1394a / IlinkDV / FireWire 400 interface from 400Mbps to 800Mbps!
Firewire 800 cables are commonly used on mass storage devices, Mac Pro, Mac mini, MacBook Pro, iMac and also digital video devices.
“BETA” refers to the Firewire 800 9 pin connector which is called a “beta connector.” Firewire 400 connectors are called “alpha connectors.”
