An oxygen regulator is a medical device used to control and reduce the high pressure of oxygen coming from a cylinder so it can be safely delivered to a patient.
What it does
Reduces cylinder pressure (often 200 bar) to usable pressure
Controls oxygen flow rate (usually in L/min)
Ensures safe, steady oxygen delivery
Main parts
Pressure gauge – shows how much oxygen is left in the cylinder
Flowmeter – lets you set the oxygen flow (e.g. 2, 5, 10 L/min)
Inlet connection – connects to the oxygen cylinder
Outlet nozzle – connects to oxygen tubing / humidifier bottle
Common types
Single-gauge regulator – shows cylinder pressure only
Double-gauge regulator – shows cylinder pressure + outlet pressure
