When you push the vibrating poker head into wet concrete, it vibrates at ∼10,000-13,000 VPM. That:
1. Removes trapped air bubbles 2. Makes the concrete settle evenly around rebar 3. Increases strength and prevents honeycombing / voids 4. Gives a smoother finish
Without it, slabs, columns and beams would have weak spots.
