A spirit level (also known as a bubble level) is a tool used to measure whether a surface is horizontal (level) or vertical (plumb). It consists of a sealed tube filled with liquid, usually alcohol, with an air bubble inside. The tube is set into a frame, often made of metal or plastic, with a series of vials (usually 2 or 3) that allow users to check the alignment of surfaces in different directions.
