While both the W245 (2005–2011) and W246 (2012–2019) generations of the Mercedes-Benz B-Class are front-wheel-drive (FWD) cars, their drive shafts (CV axles) are completely different and cannot be interchanged.The W245 relies on an older "sandwich floor" architecture shared with the W169 A-Class, while the W246 sits on the newer, globally standard MFA (Modular Front Architecture) platform shared with the W176 A-Class and C117 CLA.
