An 18mm MDF board is a medium-density fiberboard with a thickness of 18 millimeters, commonly used in furniture making, cabinetry, shelving, and interior paneling due to its strength, smooth surface, and ease of machining. Made by compressing wood fibers with resin under high pressure and temperature, MDF offers a uniform texture without knots or grain, making it ideal for precise cutting, drilling, and finishing. The 18mm thickness provides excellent durability and structural stability, making it suitable for load-bearing applications like cupboard doors, worktops, and built-in units. It can be easily painted, laminated, or veneered for a high-quality finish, but since it is not water-resistant, it should be sealed or avoided in damp environments unless using moisture-resistant MDF.
