The Mercedes-Benz W211 (E-Class, 2003–2009) petrol fuel pump system features a unique, dual-component design split across two separate access panels underneath the rear seat cushion.
The fuel pump itself sits exclusively on the rear right side (behind the driver in RHD cars, passenger in LHD), while the fuel filter and fuel pressure regulator sit on the rear left side as part of a integrated sender unit. They are linked together inside the tank by a web of internal crossover plastic fuel lines.
