Chain link fence is a type of woven fence usually made from galvanized steel wire. The chain link fence wire runs vertically and are bent into a zigzag pattern so that each "zig" hooks with the wire immediately on one side and each "zag" with the wire immediately on the other. This forms the characteristic chain link fence diamond pattern seen in this type of steel fence.
Common chain link fence heights include 4', 5', 6', 7', and 8' though almost any height is possible.
