Almond flour is a fine flour made from ground almonds. It can be used for:
* Baking cakes, muffins, cookies and brownies
* Making low-carb or gluten-free bread
* Pancakes, waffles and chapati-style flatbreads
* Pizza crusts
* Thickening soups, sauces and stews
* Coating chicken, fish or vegetables before frying or baking
* Making meatballs or burgers instead of breadcrumbs
* Preparing porridge or adding to oatmeal
* Adding to smoothies and yoghurt
* Making energy balls, protein snacks and homemade granola
* Preparing keto and gluten-free desserts
* Making almond-flour ugali-style dishes when mixed with other low-carb flours
Almond flour is naturally gluten-free, relatively high in protein, healthy fats and fibre, but it is calorie-dense. It also cannot always replace wheat flour in equal amounts because it contains no gluten.
