Cisco GLC-SX-MMD is a Cisco 1 Gigabit Ethernet SFP (Small Form-Factor Pluggable) optical transceiver module used to connect network switches, routers, or other devices over multimode fiber optic cable. It supports the IEEE 802.3z 1000BASE-SX standard with an 850 nm VCSEL laser, enabling Gigabit (1 Gbps) data transmission over short to medium distances.

Typical Distances: Up to ~550 m on 50 μm MMF; ~220 m on 62.5 μm MMF (can reach ~1 km on laser-optimized fiber)
